Editorial: Peace of mind not so hard to find on campus

Five weeks of school have passed and some may be finding themselves overwhelmed by the momentum of the quarter system.

Midterm season has come upon us and in the process of studying and still budgeting time for other activities, you may find yourself in a frustrated and seemingly long quest for sanity and relaxation.

Spare a few minutes to lay on the grass near Janss steps and think about your achievements, or allocate some time to make a phone call to parents or grandparents as a reminder of less stressful childhood days. Whatever your choice of de-stressor may be, select one to maintain your peace of mind.

Though UCLA can feel like an overwhelmingly large community, you should take advantage of the many options available, which are set up as a support system for you.

Student Psychological Services offers counseling and trained professionals who will teach you stress-management skills and ways to improve overall emotional wellness.

The Wooden Center also hosts a wide range of instructional classes including yoga. Exercise improves physical fitness which is sometimes correlated with better emotional well-being.
