Petty theft Five cell phones, two parking
permits, two wallets and one purse were stolen during this period,
totalling a loss of $315. On Feb. 12, $56 was removed from a safe
on the 14000 block of Fiji Way. Earlier that day, a recreation card
was lost at the Wooden Center.

Grand theft Pants and $600 were removed from
the Center for Health Sciences between 3 and 3:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, a $700 computer was stolen from the Evergreen
building in De Neve Plaza between 1:30 and 7 a.m. Another computer
worth $500 was stolen from a room in Courtside Wednesday between
12:30 and 1:40 a.m. Someone pried the window and attempted to punch
the ignition of a vehicle parked in Lot 2 between 10:45 a.m. and
4:10 p.m. on Feb. 12. Someone removed $1,550 in currency from a
complex on the 500 block of Landfair Ave. between 11:30 and 11:45
p.m. on Feb. 11. An $800 Spectra Link phone was stolen from the
Center for Health Sciences sometime between Jan. 27 and Feb.
11.

Miscellaneous Police received a report of a
strange buzzing sound coming from a trash can at the Center for
Health Sciences on Thursday. Upon investigation, it was found to
come from a piece of discarded medical equipment. On Wednesday,
someone reported that a propane tank was sitting in the stairwell
at the Center for Health Sciences, but what was found was only an
empty tank at a loading dock. Someone entered a room and moved
belongings at Delta Terrace in Sunset Village between 9 a.m. and 5
p.m. on Feb. 12. A suspicious letter was received regarding
depositing money into accounts from Nigeria on the 11000 block of
Wilshire Boulevard at noon.
