Myles Jack and Jim Mora are not on the same page on one particular topic. The rising junior linebacker thinks that this year’s fall training camp in San Bernardino was the toughest of the three camps he’s been to – “bar none.” Mora, on the other hand, said this year’s camp was really no different than the others, in terms of the work he put his team through. “I think they’re all tough, I don’t know which one’s been tougher than the other,” the UCLA football coach said after Tuesday morning’s practice on the Intramural Field. “I’m sure if you asked these guys, they’d all have a different perspective.” For Jack, his perspective is a little bit different than most others. He’s entering his third year with more expectations than almost every player on the UCLA roster. In ESPN’s Way-Too-Early NFL mock draft for 2016, Jack is projected as the No. 25 overall pick. Only rising junior nose tackle Kenny Clark is projected to be drafted higher – No. 22 overall. Even though the training camp workload might have been the same as it was in past years, Jack is still trying to up the ante. He said there’s no point in maintaining the status quo. “I think as the years go on, (in terms of) expectations and workloads, we just have to step our game up. I mean that’s just a part of life,” Jack said. “It’s necessary. It would be a disservice to us if camp didn’t get harder and harder each year.” Quarterback update On Friday, Mora said that he’d like to make his starting quarterback decision by this upcoming weekend. It doesn’t appear that the decision will be made much earlier than that, based on Mora’s words after practice Tuesday. “Contrary to what sources may say, I have not talked to any of the quarterbacks,” Mora said. “Nobody’s been informed of anything. So anyone that has sources that are telling them that I have, their sources are 1,000 percent wrong.” Mora went on to say that he doesn’t know if the quarterback will in fact be chosen by this weekend. “I’m not gonna put a time on it right now,” Mora said.
