Social science prizes to promote transparency in research

The Leamer-Rosenthal Prizes for Open Social Science, named in part after UCLA professor Edward Leamer, will be awarding grants of up to $15,000 for researchers.

The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences, or BITSS, will be awarding prizes to educators and scholars worldwide for research that is transparent and open in a competition named for professors from UCLA and UC Riverside.

BITSS is an international network of researchers aiming to promote openness and transparency in research studies.

Leamer is considered to be one of the first researchers within the social sciences to present his research results in an open and transparent manner, according to the BITSS website.

According to BITSS, these prizes will encourage researchers to report their findings accurately, without dramatizing them in order to increase the likelihood that their findings will be published.

The competition has two categories, one of which awards up to $15,000 in cash prizes to researchers just beginning their studies as pioneers in various fields of social science. The second awards up to $10,000 to faculty leaders who teach correct research protocol in the social sciences.

Applications for the Leamer-Rosenthal prizes will be available until September, and winners will be announced in October of this year.

  1. We should start with what the media-conglomerate’s monopoly picks & chooses to cover, not just their biased portrayal of what they DO show us… the cattle… whose only window to the outside world is the television they feed you and the internet they are in the middle of seizing…
    (Liberal “Evolution” = FAIL!)
..Remember in 1992 when b1ack South Central Los Angeles was mad at some cops for beating a crank-addict trying to aszsault them, so in ‘revenge’ they burned down the neighboring Koreatown full of first-generation immigrants who couldn’t afford business insurance and struggled with the English language?… Their young K0rean-American children almost ended up starving in the streets while still wearing diapers… However, today, 23 years later, those same K0rean-American children [thanks to their hard-working K0rean parents] became doctors, lawyers, dentists, scientists, and business-owners. K0reatown Los Angeles is in the middle of constructing the tallest skyscraper (in North AND South America), the new Wilshire Grand, west of the Mississippi River. For some reason, b1acks in the neighboring South Central still looks EXACTLY like they did 23 years ago!..
…For realz, tho… We shoult not hate white peoples… Actually, we should THANK THEM:…bacoz thay envinted all the finer things in life… indoor-plumbing, Grape Soda, shiny rims that keep spinning while stopped at a stop sign, gold teeth, running water, MENTHOLS, deep-frying process for chickens, white-gurls, microphones, subwoofers, electricity, EBT Cards (and other welfare), h00dies, handguns, and skin-color-based Affirmative-Action rides to steal college seats from hard-studying Asian-Americans…
…Would you rather be p00ping in holes in the ground in Africa while simultaneously worrying about your daughters getting taken by Boko Haram because you don’t believe they particular dialect of Muslim???… or getting chucked off a building simply bacoz you sapport rainbows and men plugging other men’s manh0les???… If anything, we should be thanking the humans’ G0d that thems nice white peoples with boats gave our ancestors [that we never even knew] a free ride….
