Petty theft One cell phone, one backpack, one
bike, one pager, three purses, four parking permits and two wallets
were stolen during this period, totalling a loss of $758. A $200
stereo was removed from a vehicle in Lot 11. Someone opened a safe
and stole $100 at the Marine Aquatic Center on Friday. On
Wednesday, someone entered a vehicle and removed a radio in the
Sunset Village parking structure. A wallet with credit cards and
other miscellaneous items was removed from a purse in the emergency
room at the Center of Health Sciences on Wednesday. Later that day,
a staff identification card and gate keys from the Center of Health
Sciences were stolen from a locker room. A man and a woman left
Denny’s Diner on Lindbrook Avenue without paying their $42
check on Feb. 5. A chair worth $150 was removed from the 10900
block of Wilshire Boulevard that same day.
Grand theft A stereo and other miscellaneous
property, worth a total of $1,000, were removed from a vehicle in
Lot 11 Sunday. Also that day, a stereo and compact discs were
removed from a car parked in Lot 8, totalling a loss of $1,200. A
backpack, with items worth $2,601, was stolen from Powell Library
Wednesday. A purse worth $675 was removed from the Cooperage
Tuesday.
Miscellaneous Eggs were thrown on the 600 block
of Landfair Avenue Sunday night. Earlier on Sunday, a bag with a
powdery substance was left inside Anderson Espresso Roma Cafe. The
substance was determined to be Coffee Mate. Someone ripped up newly
installed outdoor basketball court flooring at the Sunset Canyon
Recreational Center on Saturday. Police have received two
threatening phone calls during this past period. There have also
been two vehicle collisions in parking lots.
