UCLA nurse found dead with gunshot wounds in Long Beach home

A nurse at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center was found dead in her Long Beach home Wednesday, police said in a press release.

Paramedics found nurse Sayuri Jean Griffin, 57, and her husband, Salvador Trujillo, 57, in their home at about 3 p.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department press release. Griffin and Trujillo appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds, police said.

Police said they did not immediately find any signs of forced entry into the home and that they found a firearm in the house. The press release said the incident did not appear to be a random act of violence.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the case can call Long Beach Police Department homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244.
