UC Berkeley students take to the streets to protest police brutality

BERKELEY — Over the weekend, some Daily Bruin reporters traveled to Berkeley and Oakland, where the non-indictments in the trials of Michael Brown and Eric Garner sparked nearly daily protests in recent weeks. On Saturday, a crowd of about 200 people – organized by the Black Student Union at the University of California, Berkeley – marched from the university to downtown Oakland, where they met up with nearly 2,000 protesters to demonstrate against what they perceive as police brutality and racial profiling in law enforcement.
