Petty theft Four wallets, three backpacks, two
jackets, two purses and six cellular phones worth a total of $2,194
were stolen this past period. Five car stereos and two parking
permits were also stolen during this period, amounting to a total
loss of $677. Someone stole $235 in gold castings from the School
of Dentistry’s fourth floor lab Friday. A $200 bike was
stolen from the 500 block of Gayley Avenue on Feb. 20.
Grand theft Someone stole $700 in miscellaneous
items from a red 1989 Toyota Corolla parked on the 3000 block of
Mentone Ave. on Saturday. Earlier that day, someone stole $2,200
worth of items from a 2000 Acura on the second level of Lot 6.
Someone broke into a gray 1987 Honda Prelude in Lot 1 Saturday and
stole a radio and cash, amounting to a total loss of $2,530. A
$3,000 computer was stolen from the Center for Health Sciences
Friday. Someone stole a gray 1983 BMW from the second level of Lot
3 Thursday. Earlier that day, a white 1995 Toyota Corolla was
stolen from the Jules Stein Eye Institute parking lot. Also on
Thursday, someone stole $615 in dental equipment from the School of
Dentistry and a $3,000 measuring device from the Engineering 4
building. A maroon Cadillac Catera was stolen from the third level
of Lot 3 Wednesday. Someone stole a white 1996 Toyota Corolla from
the fifth level of Lot 2 Tuesday. A cellular phone worth $500 was
stolen from the Gypsy Cafe on Feb. 20. Earlier that day, someone
stole a red 1983 Cadillac parked in Lot 2.
Miscellaneous Police received a call Friday
that a transient was found sleeping in the second floor elevator at
the Marion Davies Children’s Clinic . Someone made harassing
phone calls to Sproul Hall on Wednesday. Later that day, a man spit
in someone’s face during a dispute in Lot 4. Two loud bangs,
possibly shots, were reported near Saxon Residential Suites on Feb.
