Petty theft Two parking permits, a backpack and
a purse were stolen, worth a total of $255. Someone stole a $100
Razor scooter from The Anderson School on Wednesday. Someone stole
$50 worth of miscellaneous items from the Center for Health
Sciences on Tuesday morning. Six cell phones were stolen, one worth
$60 and five, taken from CHS Tuesday, amounting to a total of
$2,500.
Grand theft Three backpacks, each containing
items worth more than $400, were stolen from various on-campus
locations last week. The total loss was $1,241. Two cars were
stolen Wednesday night from the Sunset Village parking structure.
They included a yellow 1998 Acura Integra parked on the first level
and a blue 2000 Honda Civic on the third level of the lot. Someone
stole an estimated $480 in miscellaneous items from Cedar Bluff on
Wednesday afternoon. Someone reported a $1,600 cardiac rhythmic
generator stolen from the 900 block of Westwood Boulevard on
Wednesday afternoon. A ring and earrings worth a total of $2,625
were stolen from a purse at the University Extension Building on
Tuesday evening. A 1992 green Plymouth Voyager was stolen from Lot
1 Tuesday afternoon.
Miscellaneous Two men threw beer bottles on the
600 block of Landfair Avenue early Friday morning. Someone was
reportedly scalping tickets Thursday evening at the corner of Le
Conte and Gayley Avenues. Police arrested a man Thursday afternoon
for reportedly masturbating near Kinsey 51. Earlier that morning,
15 people were reportedly discharging fire extinguishers at Gayley
and Strathmore Avenues. Someone left a threatening voice message at
the University Credit Union early Thursday morning. Neighbors
reported a loud mattress squeaking for 15 minutes in an apartment
building on the 11000 block of Venice Boulevard late
Valentine’s evening. A knife was found on a patient at the
Neuropsychiatric Institute Nursing Ward Wednesday evening. Police
arrested a man Wednesday afternoon on the 400 block of Midvale
Avenue after finding out the LAPD had a misdemeanor warrant for his
arrest.
