Petty theft
Eleven parking permits and $2,127 in wallets, backpacks and
cellular phones were stolen this past period. Also, $42 in cash
were stolen from various locations at the UCLA Santa Monica
Hospital and Medical Center.
Someone removed clothing from a dryer on the fourth floor of
Rieber Hall Aug. 9.
Someone pried open the door of a 1987 Toyota Camry on the 500
block of Kelton Avenue and stole $400 in various items between July
27 and Aug. 4. Also on Aug. 4, someone stole a $150 motorcycle
helmet on the 500 block of Landfair Avenue.
Someone stole a $160 drill and charger from the Mathematical
Sciences building Aug. 2.
A $50 keycard was stolen from Hedrick Hall on July 21.
Grand theft
Police received 11 reports of lost or stolen vehicles this past
period. Four bicycles, five stereos, four computers, two
televisions, one scooter and one phone worth a total of $16,032
were stolen from various locations in or around campus. Also,
$1,200 in items were stolen from two storage rooms on the 3000
block of Sawtelle Boulevard.
Someone fraudulently charged about $1,344 to a credit card at
Sproul Hall between Aug. 7 and 8. Various items worth a total of
$2,000 were stolen from the Gonda (Goldschmeid) Center for Sciences
building Aug. 7.
Someone used bodily force to remove an $8,000 Cartier wristwatch
from a person near Gayley and Landfair Avenues on Aug. 6.
Compact discs and a carrying case totalling $735 were stolen
from a room in Saxon Suites between Aug. 4 and 5.
Someone stole $1,200 in cash from a room on the third floor of
Sproul Hall Between July 22 and 25.
A $761 mini-disc recorder was stolen from Dickson Hall July
18.
Miscellaneous
Security officers at the UCLA Medical Center discovered four
rounds of ammunition for a 22-caliber in the pocket of an emergency
room patient Aug. 8.
Someone found papers addressed to the FBI at Bunche Hall Aug.

Police received a second-hand report that a man on a bike was
riding up behind women and grabbing them near Westwood Boulevard
and Kinross Avenue on Aug. 1.
Occupants in a cream-colored 1995 Toyota 4runner were throwing
eggs at a passersby on the 500 block of Kelton Avenue around 1 a.m.
July 30.
University police received an LAPD broadcast that two people
were fighting in the backseat of a cab on Sunset Boulevard July 29.
One of the people was possibly armed with a gun.
A man struck a victim multiple times inside a building on the
400 block of Landfair Avenue and removed a gold chain from the
victim’s neck July 28.
A man struck one person in the head with a walker and punched a
second person at the Center for Health Sciences Intensive Care Unit
July 27.
Two or three people climbed a person’s balcony railing on
the 600 block of Levering Avenue and threw unknown objects at the
reporting party’s window three times around 2:30 a.m. July
27.
Police received a report that a man was possibly masturbating in
an alley near Veteran and Levering Avenues July 22.
