Editors note: The Daily Bruin talked to students on Bruin Walk to find out their opinions on what the most memorable UCLA sports moments from the 2013-2014 academic year were.
Alana McKean, second-year environmental science student.
“Tennis and soccer winning NCAAs. I was on rowing last year so I felt like we’re all a part of a big Bruin community, and it’s really neat that we can band together around sports.”
Sean Stevens, third-year music history student.
“When Brett Hundley decided he’s coming back.”
Carina Hampp, second-year neuroscience student.
“We went to the Pac-12 championship tournament for basketball in Las Vegas, and we won that. That was super exciting. That was a super-intense game. … I think because we’re in the marching band we pay a lot more attention to the game because we have to pay attention to the game, and in that way we’re more invested in the game.”
Ariel Lavi, first-year undeclared student.
“The (Jan. 9) basketball game against Arizona. Even though we lost, it was a big deal. They were ranked No. 1 and we were giving them a run for their money. It was exciting.”
