The Hill will host the 30 candidates in this year’s undergraduate student government elections Friday night, in an event for students to meet their future student leaders.
Any student can come talk to the candidates at the third annual “Meet the Candidates” event, which was organized by the Undergraduate Students Association Council Election Board and the On-Campus Housing Council, said Anthony Padilla, the USAC Election Board chair.
Padilla said the event will be an open forum for both students and candidates in the De Neve Plaza Rooms.
The Election Board is focused on making this year’s event open and relaxed, said Gabrielle Scheder-Bieschin, the USAC Election Board external relations chair.
USAC elections will take place May 6-8, during week six.
What this really turned into was an opportunity for current USAC members to attack and antagonize all candidates they don’t support. They were present along with acquaintances who don’t even attend UCLA and attacked candidates and demonstrated hostile attitudes. If these are the individuals we elected in past years I fear that the candidates they support will be no better.
