$19,760 Grand theft $2,207 Petty theft
Petty theft Six wallets, four cellular phones,
two backpacks, one purse containing a diamond ring, one car stereo
and a parking permit were stolen during this period. These thefts
amounted to a total loss of $2,082. Someone stole hubcaps, valued
at $125, from a blue 1995 Honda Odyssey from the second level of
Lot 32 on Thursday.
Grand theft Someone stole a bicycle worth
$2,500 from The Anderson School at UCLA on Friday. Someone stole
camera equipment, worth $17,260, from a vehicle in the Center for
Health Sciences parking lot Thursday.
Miscellaneous Police performed more than 40
traffic stops during this past period, citing a wide range of
offenses. There were two reports last week of grand theft auto, but
in both instances, the cars were recovered within several hours of
the reported theft. On Sunday morning, the Sproul Hall front desk
received a threatening phone call. Someone stole a man’s
wallet from the Men’s Gym Saturday, resulting in a loss of
$597. A man reported to police late Friday night that he was robbed
by two other men in Lot 32. The suspects stole his wallet and its
contents, resulting in a combined loss of $100. Police arrested a
man for possession of marijuana in the Center for Health Sciences
early Friday afternoon. Facilities Management employees working in
the College Library on Thursday reported hearing voices in the
tunnels below the building’s ground-level women’s rest
room. An On-Campus Injury Investigation was initiated after a man
fell backwards out of his chair in Bunche Hall on Wednesday. Police
were called to respond to a demonstration in Murphy Hall on
Tuesday. They arrested 19 people after demonstrators reportedly
spent seven hours protesting the denial of tenure by the UC system
to Josh Muldavin, a geography professor.
