A 20-year-old man, who was recently arrested in connection with five assaults or attempted assaults around UCLA’s campus early Friday morning, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Daniel F. Hoyos Isaza, a student at California State University, Northridge, turned himself into university police Sunday after police sent out a safety bulletin with his picture and description.

Isaza attempted to sexually assault one student near Rieber Hall early Friday morning. He then grabbed a second person’s buttocks and sexually battered or battered three other people, said UCPD Lt. Mark Littlestone.

At least two of the incidents took place near the residential halls, said Nancy Greenstein, a university police spokeswoman.

Police received reports about the five different victims within a half hour of each other, starting about 2:30 a.m., Littlestone said.

Police believe that Isaza turned himself in because they received numerous anonymous tips identifying him as a suspect, Littlestone said.

He is now in custody at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles.
