A 20-year-old man turned himself in to university police Sunday for attempting to sexually assault two people near UCLA’s residential halls, according to a university police report.

Daniel F. Hoyos Isaza, of Santa Clarita, Calif., was arrested and will be taken into the custody of Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles, according to the report.

Isaza grabbed a student from behind and attempted to sexually assault her outside of Rieber Hall at 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, said university police spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein. Isaza left after he was interrupted by two people. After he fled, he grabbed a second person’s buttocks at a dorm nearby before leaving the campus.

UCPD recommends that students walk with others at night and to call the university police if they see anyone acting suspiciously.
