A suspicious package found early Tuesday at the entrance of the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif. prompted officials to briefly shut down the area.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies found a suitcase padlocked to railing near the north entrance of the facility at 8:25 a.m., according to a report from the L.A. Sheriff’s Department, County Services Bureau.
Officials closed the entrance and searched the hospital for the owner of the suitcase while K-9 units were brought in to inspect the package, according to the report. Before the K-9 units arrived at the scene, the owner of the suitcase was found.
The entrance was shut down for about 15 minutes and no medical services were affected.
