The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

The council unanimously passed a resolution expressing its concerns with University of California President Janet Napolitano and calling for her to comply with a list of demands compiled by students at multiple UC schools.

The council approved this week’s contingency programming allocations with a 10-0-2 vote. General Representative Lizzy Naameh and Campus Events Commissioner Jessica Kim had left the room at this time.

USAC President John Joanino said he and Community Service Commissioner Omar Arce have secured $10,000 for the John Hoang Sarvey Scholarship. Joanino added that he is continuing to work on the 7,000 in Solidarity campaign.

Internal Vice President Avi Oved said his office is trying to find a way to live-stream USAC meetings, and that he plans to create a safety map for students, so they can identify places where they feel unsafe on campus.

External Vice President Maryssa Hall said that her office is preparing for an action in mid-October in support of challenges to Proposition 2, as well as an action this Thursday to encourage more oversight of Los Angeles County jails.
- Academic Affairs Commissioner Darren Ramalho said his office is preparing for a dinner next Thursday, during which students and administrators will discuss the possible diversity requirement at UCLA and its history.
