Newly opened residential buildings Sproul Cove and Sproul Landing will house laundry machines that text students’ cell phones after finishing a wash or dry cycle.
Clarissa Chan, a first-year physical sciences student, said she thinks the new laundry machines will allow students to participate in other activities while doing laundry.
“It is going to benefit students because it is a lot easier to do other things while your laundry is in the wash,” Chan said. “You can leave your laundry unattended.”
Other students say that the new laundry machine texting can help them avoid uncomfortable situations that have happened in the past.
“If you forget about your laundry and come in 20 minutes late and someone is taking your laundry out, it’s a little awkward,” said Brent Louie, a third-year psychobiology student.
