More than 100 people crowded the bar, commonly called Brew. Co, late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning for the bar’s final night.
UCLA alumnus Khalid Bawson has been coming to Brew Co. for decades, starting when his mom would take him there for lunch when he was growing up. As a student, the bar became a sort of “club house” for him and his fellow students.
“I’m sad as hell – this was UCLA’s bar,” Bawson said, shaking his head as he stood outside of the bar Tuesday night.
Other community members documented the bar’s last hurrah on social media.
