The University of California Board of Regents, the governing board of the UC, will meet Tuesday through Thursday at UC San Francisco for its bimonthly meeting. The board will discuss a cap on nonresident student enrollment, the governor’s revised budget proposal and student housing at several campuses.

Tuesday

  • The Investments Subcommittee will hear updates on the UC’s investments and discuss revising the University’s investment policy, which determines how the UC chooses to invest its funds.

Wednesday

  • The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will discuss strategies to increase transfer student enrollment and introduce financial aid policies for students in programs that require professional degree supplemental tuition. The committee will also discuss the results of a survey on graduate student well-being.
  • The Finance and Capital Strategies Committee will discuss funding and plans for student housing at UCLA, UC Riverside, UC Irvine and UC San Francisco. It will also vote on a budget for the renovation of UCLA’s graduate art studio and a loan for the Hammer Museum. Nathan Brostrom, UC chief financial officer, will give the committee updates on how the governor’s revised budget proposal will affect the UC.
  • The Public Engagement and Development Committee will discuss bills the UC is sponsoring in the California State Legislature and how the federal government’s budget cuts will impact research funding for the UC. Chancellor Gene Block, Assistant Vice Chancellor Keith Parker and UCLA students will also provide updates on UCLA’s community outreach programs, such as those that serve veterans, immigrant students and performing arts students, among others.
