UCLA men’s golf had three underclassmen compete at the Cal Poly Shootout on Monday and Tuesday. They finished tied for 17th, 38th and 55th in the field of 62.

Phil Delisi, the Bruins’ top scorer this week, shot a 1-over 217 overall. The sophomore shot even in round one and 1-under par in round two before shooting 2-over in round three.

UCLA’s next best golfer was Scott Mitchell, who shot a 10-over 226. His scores got better as the tournament labored on. The freshman shot an 80 in round one, a 74 in round two and an even-par 72 in the final round.

Freshman Harrison Mahon put up scores of 81, 77 and 78 – in that order – to finish 20-over par.

UC Irvine’s David Kim claimed the tournament with an 8-under 208.

The Bruins’ next tournament will signal the start of their postseason. The Pac-12 conference championship begins April 28 in Colorado.
