UCLA students start trading brighter colors for darker ones. Students showcase their creativity through everything from their hairstyles to their skirts.

Second-year marine biology student Kyilah Terry sported a Chicago-inspired outfit with multicolored pants that contrasted with a black crop top. The dark colors reflected the season, but the outfit was practical for the high temperature, she said.

Jake Stutz and Camille Clair wore thrift store apparel. Stutz, a third-year art student, donned his father’s shoes along with pants from a thrift store. Stutz received his T-shirt as a gift from a neighbor. Clair, a second-year art student, paired a dark grey sweater with a cheetah print skirt.

Graduate student Jo Williams modeled a colorful skirt inspired by what she called new African style and completed her look with a large sun hat. Williams said she enjoys wearing African- and Native American-style clothing because she appreciates the cultures.

Guransh Singh showcased a green turban along with a galaxy-patterned backpack. The third-year undeclared student tries to match or contrast his turban with his clothes, Singh said.
