About 200 Sproul Hall residents decorated teddy bears with bows and ribbons Tuesday. Sproul Hall’s Resident Government Council hosted the Build-A-Bruin event at the Sproul Lecture Room from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Some students kept the teddy bears for themselves, while others gave them to their friends.
Sproul Hall is also donating an unopened case of teddy bears to the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, along with letters residents wrote for the hospital’s pediatric patients and families, said Guillermo Soria, president of Sproul Hall’s Resident Government Council and a third-year Spanish and Chicano/a studies student. Soria added they are donating the customized bears to DaVita Kidney Care for Children, a dialysis center.
