Kris Wilkes’ commitment vaults 2017 UCLA basketball class to top spot

Five-star forward Kris Wilkes committed to UCLA basketball Sunday morning, giving the Bruins the top 2017 class in Scout.com’s updated rankings.

The 6-foot-8-inch small forward out of North Central High School, Indianapolis, will join fellow five-star point guard Jaylen Hands, four-stars Jalen Hill and Cody Riley and three-star LiAngelo Ball in Pauley next season as UCLA looks to build upon a new, young contingent of players.

Prior to the Wilkes signing, UCLA had the No. 5 class in the nation as per Scout.com, but the signing vaulted the Bruins to the top spot. Wilkes is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2017 class and is the highest ranked player in the Midwest region.
