A 20-year-old UCLA student died Tuesday night after falling from Boelter Hall.

University police responded at 6:30 p.m. to reports of a fall from the roof of Boelter. First responders took the student to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and the student died a short time later, according to a statement from UCPD.

UCPD did not release the name of the student. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled the death a suicide.

UCPD is not investigating the fall as a homicide. Counseling is available to those affected by the death. Counseling and Psychological Services counselors are available 24/7 on the emergency crisis hotline (310) 825-0768.

    1. I think it’s wise not to give this much attention, because suicides tend to cause other suicides. (It was confirmed a suicide in an article today regarding today’s Biomed incident.)

  1. Tony LaMadrid also jumped in 1991. You would think the authorities would take measures to prevent people from falling/jumping. They have installed nets and fences on bridges where suicides are common.
