University police arrested four men on Roebling Avenue Tuesday morning who had stolen property.
Police officers confronted the four men at about 4 a.m. because they looked suspicious, said UCPD spokesperson Nancy Greenstein in an email statement. The officers then found stolen items and burglary tools in their car. The items were not from the area.
The were all arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, Greenstein said.
The first man, who is 25 years old, is being held at the North County Correctional Facility, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records. Two men, who are 41 and 37 years old, are being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles. The last man, 36 years old, was released.
All four have a hearing at the Airport Courthouse on Aug. 4, according to sheriff’s department records.
The men are not affiliated with UCLA, Greenstein said.
Greenstein said UCPD recommends students call UCPD if they see any suspicious activity going on in the area.
Great job by UCPD! I’m glad they are out there keeping an eye on things.
