USAC recap – April 26

The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government representing the undergraduate student body at UCLA. Council meetings take place every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students. Watch a live stream of the meetings on the USAC Live! YouTube channel.

Agenda

  • The council unanimously voted to allocate $3,900 to student groups from the Contingency Programming Fund.

  • The council appointed Alondra Fabian, a second-year sociology student, onto the Community Activities Committee.

Officer Reports

  • President Heather Rosen said she met with Chancellor Gene Block and talked about updates regarding college affordability for middle-income students.

  • Internal Vice President Heather Hourdequin said she spoke with the Bureau of Street Lighting about lighting in Westwood. Hourdequin said the bureau plans to install LED light bulbs on light posts in Westwood starting June 30.

  • Academic Affairs Commissioner Trent Kajikawa said he is working with UCLA to develop a technology that aims to predict which classes will be in high demand.
