Several UCLA graduate schools ranked highly in a U.S. News & World Report survey released Wednesday.

U.S. News & World Report listed rankings for schools in areas such as business, education and engineering. The UCLA School of Arts and Architecture tied for No. 2 among fine arts programs, and the David Geffen School of Medicine tied No. 6 among medical schools in primary care. In addition, the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health tied for No. 10 among public health schools.

Several schools improved in ranking, including the School of Arts and Architecture, which ranked No. 4, and the David Geffen School of Medicine, which ranked No. 7 in 2015.

Other schools that ranked in the top 15 in their categories include the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.

The rankings are based on expert opinions about each program and statistical measures of faculty quality, research and student achievement, according to the U.S. News & World Report website. U.S. News & World Report collected surveys from administrators in more than 1,900 graduate schools and more than 18,000 professionals in each discipline.
