University police arrested a man Saturday who allegedly tried to assault someone Thursday with a metal chair in Ackerman Union.
The man, 45, was arrested in Ackerman Union Saturday on one charge of assault with a deadly weapon, one charge of threatening with intent to terrorize and one charge of violating civil rights by causing violent injury, according to police logs.
UCPD put out an alert for the wanted man Friday, which said that he attempted to hit another man with a metal chair while making threats and using racial slurs.
He is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles in lieu of $55,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records.
UCPD arrested the man in 2013 for burglary and resisting arrest and was sentenced to three years and 90 days in county jail, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records.
He is scheduled to appear at the Airport Courthouse Tuesday for his arraignment, according to LASD records.
