Cordell Broadus, son of rapper Snoop Dogg, to leave UCLA football

Incoming freshman wide receiver Cordell Broadus, son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has decided to leave the UCLA football team.

“Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life – in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions,” said coach Jim Mora in a statement. “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.”

Broadus has been absent for all of training camp this week. On Monday, Mora said Broadus was excused due to personal reasons.

The wide receiver was a four-star recruit out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas and is ranked No. 26 in the nation for the position by 247Sports.

Broadus’ recruitment was highly followed through the ESPN reality series “Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream.” He turned down several Power Five conference schools, including USC and Arizona State, when committing to UCLA.
