Police are searching for a man who shoplifted about $200 worth of cosmetic items from CVS Pharmacy in Westwood Village Friday morning.

The man entered the CVS Pharmacy at the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Weyburn Avenue about 9:35 a.m. Friday, put the merchandise into a bag and left the store, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man was described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds, with a mustache and white goatee. He was wearing a white shirt and a blue hoodie, police said.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

LAPD Detective Daniel Wheat said police think the shoplifting of cosmetic items has been an ongoing problem recently, and that goods are often resold at higher prices at warehouses and swap meets.

Anyone with information about this incident can call LAPD at 310-444-1588.
