University police are searching for a man who penetrated a UCLA student with his fingers in a dorm room on the Hill early Saturday.
The man walked into the room about 1:30 a.m. and penetrated the student, who did not initially resist because she thought the man was an acquaintance, according to a UCPD statement. When the student realized she did not know the man, she pushed him away and he left the room.
The man was described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 20 years old with short black coarse hair, according to the statement.
According to the California Penal Code, the maximum sentence for somebody charged with the crime is eight years in state prison.
The student called the police Wednesday afternoon.
No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident can call UCPD at (310) 825-9371.
