At around 3:20, in the recording, regarding the Rachel Beyda incident, Natalie Delgadillo – with all the eloquence of a barbie doll – says, ” It’s going to take time and a lot of doing things right in order to ‘patch over’ this sort of really big indiscretion.”
“Patch over this sort of really big indiscretion”???
You would think she was talking about a fashion faux pas, instead of a case where USAC openly and
intentionally discriminated against and attempted to do harm to a fellow student – solely because she was
Jewish. Is Delgadillo even aware that hadn’t someone stepped in to stop it, USAC would have committed a
felony? OMG!!!
Now Delgadillo, realizing what she sounds like, actually states, “I’m speaking lightly of it by calling it
an indiscretion” – PRESTO – right at the end of that line – between 3:41 and 3:43:in the recording – you
can actually hear a distinct change. Someone either stopped the interview or edited the recording – and
they did a pretty sloppy job of it.
Even with the Bruin’s normally low integrity for journalism – it became clear that this interview was slipping into a blatant and obvious farce. They had gone too far – even for them.
Campbell and his fellow “journalists” at the Bruin realized that too much honesty was leaking into the interview. They were coming across as a bunch of insensitive, unsympathetic slobs.
It was time to edit the tape.
