The UCLA School of Law recently launched an initiative to support women in the school and alumnae as they work toward their career goals.
The program, called UCLA Law Women LEAD, aims to connect students and encourage them to communicate with each other. About 49 percent of students enrolled in the law school are women.
The program aims to help three groups: students and young alumnae who are beginning their careers, mid-career professionals who are transitioning to the next part of their careers and senior professionals. Members will work with each other to build their reputations and develop skills.
Women do not need to pay membership costs or fees, and all female UCLA Law students and alumnae are welcome to join, Director of Alumni Relations Sarai Crane said in an email statement.
UCLA Women LEAD Co-Chair Nancy Abell said in a statement that she hopes the program will help women students and alumnae build their reputations and expand their career opportunities.
