On Friday, an L.A. couple pleaded no contest to charges in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a UCLA alumnus in 2013, officials said.
In late 2013, 23-year-old UCLA alumnus and filmmaker David Pregerson died after a car struck him while he was walking on Chautauqua Boulevard in Pacific Palisades.
Marguerite Vuong, 67, pleaded no contest on Friday to a count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Her husband, 67-year-old Michael Vuong, pleaded no contest to a count of accessory to a fatal hit-and-run, according to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors alleged that Marguerite Vuong drove the car that hit Pregerson and that her husband tried to help her avoid police.
The couple will be sentenced on March 6.
