Daily Bruin Sports senior staffers Aubrey Yeo and Matthew Joye went into Trojan territory during rivalry week to ask USC students about Saturday’s UCLA v. USC football game.

Sydney Golumbek, fourth-year communication student – on why the rivalry is such a big deal.
“Because we don’t have a professional team so I feel like you either associate with USC or UCLA. I feel like everyone sort of has an opinion.”

Leah Hansen, second-year cello performance student – on her personal rivalry traditions.
“My best friend goes to UCLA. We don’t speak the week before.”

Mikk Otsmaa, third-year biological science student – on what he’d say to a Bruin.
“Whenever someone says ‘University of Spoiled Children,’ there’s three things I like to say: ‘University of Social Capital,’ ‘University of Super Connections’ and ‘I signed up for my classes a month late, and I still got everything I wanted.’”
