UCLA students fall into winter fashion trends

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are already off of Starbucks’ specials board, which can only mean one thing: It’s time for that preemptive transition from fall to winter that hits right after Oct. 31. It’s true, Westwood’s lows might dip into the 50s rather than below 0 on a cold night. However, with the first chill, UCLA students can finally dig into the back of their closets for items their out-of-state peers have been wearing for weeks: coats, scarves, boots and head gear.

“The best thing is the changing season: new air, new leaves,” said Chelly Jin, a first-year Design | Media Arts student. Not to mention new clothes. Regardless of personal style, winter brings a kind of universal quality to campus clothing selections: A need for warmth. For those excited to go the way of the specials board and hop from shorts into beanies, Daily Bruin A&E; highlights the weather-conscious students of Bruin Walk to find out their favorite accessories for SoCal’s “winter” season.
