Four laptops and an iPod were stolen from UCLA student apartments in two separate burglaries Monday evening and Tuesday morning, university police said.
Between 11 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown suspect entered an apartment near the corner of Kelton and Levering avenues through an unlocked front door, according to a UCPD alert. The suspect took a wallet, iPod and a laptop before leaving, police said.
Also that morning, between 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown suspect entered a student apartment at the corner of Levering and Midvale avenues, possibly through a rear door that was difficult to lock. The suspect took three laptops from the apartment, police said.
No more information was immediately available, and the incidents are still under investigation.
Police recommend that students keep their doors and windows locked and do not leave valuable items, such as laptops, in plain sight.
Anyone with information about either incident can call UCPD at (310) 825-9371.
