Future UCLA sports facility to be named the Wasserman Football Center

UCLA’s future football facility will be named the Wasserman Football Center, UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero announced Thursday.

The building will be named after the Wasserman Foundation and Casey Wasserman – a sports agent, UCLA alumnus and the foundation’s president – in recognition of Wasserman’s donation and support.

“For decades, the Wasserman Foundation has generously supported key campus initiatives, including scholarships, capital projects, marquee research and health programs, as well as, of course, (UCLA) Athletics,” said Chancellor Gene Block in the press release.

The Wasserman Football Center, which will be located west of Spaulding Field, has raised approximately $43 million in private funds of the $50 million that was set as its goal. Construction will begin in fall of 2015.

The facility will include a locker room, a strength and conditioning facility, an athletic training area, coaches’ offices, team meeting rooms, equipment rooms and video rooms.
