Workers are expected finish replacing a water pipe Friday night that broke and caused flooding at UCLA Tuesday, after removing the damaged portion of the pipe from the ground this morning, officials said.

After that, workers are set to begin the backfilling process to the trench before paving the road again, said Jeff Bray, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power superintendent for water distribution, at a press conference Friday morning.

Bray did not give an estimate for when Sunset Blvd. will open up again.
