A UCLA alumnus was arrested in the North Village on Sunday for peeping into an apartment, university police said.
Thibault Mathieu, 29, was arrested during a pedestrian stop after police officers saw him looking into an apartment at 515 Kelton Ave. at about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, said UCPD spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein.
He was booked at the UCPD police station at about 12:40 a.m. on Monday and released about two hours later on his own recognizance.
Mathieu is a 2012 graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
Several peepings have been reported in the North Village in recent months, though Greenstein said it is too early for police to say if Mathieu matches the description of other suspects.
The case is still under investigation. No additional information was available.
University police have arrested two other men recently in connection with peepings in Westwood apartments. Christopher Mendicino, 46, was arrested in May in connection with peepings on Kelton Avenue. In June, Paris Arnaud, 36, was arrested in connection with peepings on Roebling and Kelton avenues.
UCPD recommends that students be aware of their surroundings, lock their doors and windows, shut their blinds and contact police if they see anything suspicious.
Mathieu will appear in court on Aug. 27 at the Los Angeles Superior Court Airport Courthouse.
Anyone with additional information regarding these incidents or similar peeping incidents can call UCPD at (310) 825-1491.
