Officer Reports
- USAC President John Joanino said his LA2050 symposium event at Fowler Museum Friday was successful and he is looking to work with administrators on the goals individuals talked about and developed at the event. He said he also created a “Robert’s Rules of Order” guide for future councilmembers and he is working with Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Janina Montero to select students to serve on a committee that would help faculty develop a new diversity requirement.
- Internal Vice President Avi Oved said he thought Ally Week, which his office helped program last week, went well and he plans to have a follow-up meeting with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Campus Resource Center to restructure how the event is run in the future. He added that his office is still working to launch a campus safety app and is currently waiting on another funding allocation for it.
- External Vice President Maryssa Hall said her office is planning to help form a focus group that would meet with students who receive financial aid and examine where aid services fall short or are helpful. She added that her office is planning to help establish a focus group of Asian-Pacific Islander students to talk about issues brought up by Senate Constitutional Amendment 5, an affirmative action measure.
- Academic Affairs Commissioner Darren Ramalho said his office programmed Academic Inequality Awareness Week and held a diversity requirement town hall last week. He added that his office is hosting its last Stress Free Day of the year Wednesday.
