UCLA received $512 million in donations for the 2012-2013 fiscal year – the most out of any public university in the country, according to the recent Voluntary Support of Education report
The donations marked the largest yearly total in UCLA’s history, according to an annual report from the UCLA Foundation. Last year replaced 2001-2002
UCLA will use the donations to fund student support services, research funding, discretionary funding and faculty support, according to a statement from Chancellor Gene Block and UCLA Foundation Chair Steven Klosterman.
UCLA received donations from almost 58,000 individual donors, some who gave gifts of more than $1 million to the university. A $20 million donation from the Anthony and Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation was one of last year’s largest donations.
The Voluntary Support of Education report ranked UCLA 11th in its list of U.S. universities with the largest amount of donations.
The report also ranked Stanford, Harvard and USC in the top three colleges for fundraising. The rest of the schools listed in the top 10 were also private universities.
