The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

The council approved contingency programming funds with a 9-0-2 vote. USAC Community Service Commissioner Omar Arce and Cultural Affairs Commissioner Jessica Trumble abstained from voting.

The council unanimously approved a change to USAC’s bylaws. Following the change, members of the Finance Committee and the assistant budget review director will be approved by the Appointments Review Committee before they are appointed.

USAC President John Joanino said that he is meeting with administrators to update the information included on students’ BruinCards.

Internal Vice President Avi Oved said he met with Kenn Heller, assistant dean of students, to work on developing the mobile panic button safety application. Oved said that he is looking to create the app with developers on-campus rather than an off-campus organization.

External Vice President Maryssa Hall said her office is preparing for this weekend’s Student of Color Conference at UCLA.

Academic Affairs Commissioner Darren Ramalho said his office is hosting a “Appetizers with Administrators” event Wednesday afternoon.

Student Wellness Commissioner Savannah Badalich said the University of California Office of the President is working to change its sexual harassment and sexual violence policy. Badalich added that 7,000 in Solidarity will be hosting a workshop at the Student of Color Conference.

Kevin Yu, a first-year biochemistry student, and Sophia Kim, a second-year physics student, were unanimously appointed to the USAC Finance Committee.
