UCLA student robbed in Parking Structure 2 Thursday

A UCLA student was robbed in Parking Structure 2 Thursday afternoon by a man who said he was carrying a gun, according to a university police report.

The robbery took place on the first level of the parking structure at about 3 p.m., according to the report. The man told the student to hand over his laptop and money, but only took the student’s cash, according to the report.

The man then told the student to walk toward the structure’s exit without looking back.

The student told officials that he did not see the suspect or the gun.

Police suggest that students walk and park in well-lit areas and be aware of their surroundings. When confronted by a robber, students should comply with the robber’s demands and get a detailed description of the person when possible.

Thursday’s robbery is currently under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident can call UCPD at (310) 825-1491.
