Freshman guard Isaac Hamilton’s National Letter of Intent appeal has been denied, UCLA Athletics announced in a statement today.
As a result, the 6-foot-5 freshman will not be able to play for the UCLA men’s basketball team during the 2013-2014 season, allowing him to return as a sophomore for the team’s 2014-2015 season. In the meantime, Hamilton will be permitted to practice with the UCLA basketball team.
Hamilton decided to leave the University of Texas at El Paso in July, but the university decided not to release him from his commitment. He accepted a scholarship offer from UCLA and began taking fall quarter classes Sept. 26.
As a senior at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., in 2013, Hamilton averaged nearly 24 points per game and earned McDonald’s All-American honors. He was rated the No. 14 player in the nation in the Class of 2013 by Rivals.com and the No. 32 overall recruit by ESPN.com.

The powers at NCAA felt it was their time to show us again that they can mess with us after their Shabbaz fiasco last year. It’s ok NCAA, we will teach, train and develop him for our next season. GO BRUINS
