Man grabs student near Sproul Hall in latest assault on Hill

University police are looking for a man who grabbed a student near Sproul Hall Monday night, the latest in several reports of assault or attempted assault on the Hill this week.

The man went up to the student around 9:30 p.m., picked her up by the waist and then left, said UCPD spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein.

Police describe him as Asian, 20- to 23-years-old, 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall and 140 to 150 pounds. He was wearing dark jeans and a black jacket.

On Friday, several other students reported that a man grabbed their buttocks near Rieber and Hedrick Halls, said UCPD Lieutenant Mark Littlestone. Police later arrested California State University, Northridge student Daniel F. Hoyos Isaza in connection with the assaults. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Anyone with information about Monday’s assault can contact UCPD at (310) 825-9371.
