Students can now obtain funding for supplies needed for cultural events and programming from the Cultural Programming Mini Fund, housed in the undergraduate student government.
The Undergraduate Students Association Council Cultural Affairs Commission expanded the resources covered by the fund this quarter to better help students afford to put on cultural events, said Jessica Trumble, Cultural Affairs commissioner.
Previously, students could only apply to the Cultural Programming Mini Fund to pay for venues and honorariums. By allowing students to also apply for supplies, the Cultural Affairs Commission will now cover costumes and equipment rentals, said Trumble, a fourth-year English student.
“Essentially, we’re funding everything we can,” she said. “We want the fund to be as supportive to cultural events across the board.”
Students who want to apply for funding can submit applications online on the Cultural Affairs Commission funding website.
