An unknown man followed a student home and trespassed in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house Thursday afternoon, according to a university police advisory report released today.

The man followed the student about 100 yards to the house in a silver sedan at about 3:30 p.m., said Nancy Greenstein, a UCPD spokeswoman. When the student reached the house at 744 Hilgard Ave., where she lives, the man got out of the car and followed her inside, Greenstein said.

The student went inside and tried to close the door but the man stopped the door before it closed and entered the house, Greenstein said. After the student asked the man what business he had inside the house, he ran out the front door onto Hilgard Avenue, Greenstein added.

He then turned onto Manning Avenue.

The man was described as in his mid-30s, white, 220 pounds and 5-foot-7-inches tall, according to the report. He has dark curly hair and was wearing khaki cargo shorts, a white long sleeve shirt and black flip flops.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident or the suspect can contact UCPD at (310) 825-1491.
