Daily Bruin receives awards in 21 categories from California College Media Association

The Daily Bruin won awards for second place in general newspaper excellence and third place in general website excellence at the California College Media Association awards banquet.

At Saturday’s award banquet in San Jose, the Daily Bruin won awards in 21 different categories.

First Place:

Best multimedia presentation (Byron Lutz and Kelly Zhou)

Best infographic (Jonathan Solichin)

Best arts & entertainment column/criticism (Sammie Suchland)

Best feature story (James Barragan)

Best photo series

Second Place:

General newspaper excellence

Best news story, non-breaking (Jillian Beck)

Best breaking news story (Jillian Beck and Kylie Reynolds)

Best blog (Kate Parkinson-Morgan)

Best editorial

Best magazine review (Rachel Garcia)

Best back-to-school or orientation issue

Best podcast (Christyana Cabal and Taylor Erickson)
